The purpose of this article is to detail Project use and its’ configuration.
A project can serve as an additional filter in your chart of accounts that does not require a GL code. If you associate a transaction to a project, you can generate many sales, agent, accounts payable and general ledger reports if they provide a Projects tab.
To setup a project, navigate to System>>Setup>>Projects. You are required to enter a unique maximum eight character Project Code and Project Description. The Warning Text and Project Address fields are optional.
In the example below a project was setup to track a rental property, including a Warning Text to remind user that the agent will receive 50% in commission for the Foxglove rental property.
When an agent commission record is added to a sale and FOXGLOVE is selected from the Project dropdown, the following Project Warning will pop-up as a reminder that the agent should receive 50% commission for the rental sale.
